   Blur reached No. 1 on the UK singles chart for the first time with “Country House”, winning the highly publicized battle with Oasis. Both groups released their singles on the same day; “Country House” sold 270,000 copies compared with 220,000 copies of Oasis's “Roll with It”, which entered the chart at No. 2.
