He co-founded the indie label Postcard Records and in 2011 also co-founded Analogue Enhanced Digital.

Scottish singer and songwriter Sadenia "Eddi" Reader was born in Glasgow. She became known as the frontwoman of Fairground Attraction. The group had the UK No. 1 single "Perfect" in 1988. Reader had the UK solo hit "Patience of Angels" in 1994.

Tony DeFranco, frontman of The DeFranco Family, was born in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. In 1973, the group had the U.S. No. 3 single "Heartbeat-It's A Lovebeat", which was the best-selling U.S. single of 1973.

Drummer of the American group The Mavericks Paul Deakin was born. The group had the 1998 UK hit “Dance The Night Away”, which reached number four, and won a Grammy Award for the song “Here Comes the Rain”.

Graham Massey, keyboardist with 808 State, was born.

He is also the father of Miley Cyrus.

American singer Mitch Malloy was born. He is best known as the former singer of the hard rock band Great White from 2018 to 2022 and also auditioned for the position of Van Halen's singer after Sammy Hagar's departure.

American gospel singer and actress Yolanda Yvette Adams was born in Houston, Texas. She is known as the Queen of Contemporary Gospel Music and the First Lady of Modern Gospel. She had five albums reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Album chart. Her album “Mountain High... Valley Low” won a Grammy in 1999, and in 2016 she received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteer service.

British singer and songwriter Kim Appleby, one half of the sibling pop duo Mel and Kim, was born in Hackney, London. Together with her sister Melanie Appleby, she had the UK No. 1 single “Respectable” in 1987 as Mel and Kim, as well as three other UK Top 10 hits: “Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend)”, “F.L.M.”, and “That's the Way It Is”.
