- Art Garfunkel, who had admitted to possessing marijuana in upstate New York the previous year, was charged again after a marijuana cigarette was allegedly found in the ashtray of his car. In September 2005, a judge ordered him to give two motivational speeches to local high school students.
- At the release of the album “The Singer”, Art Garfunkel said that his voice was recovering well enough for him to go on tour in the autumn. These were his first major live performances since 2010, when vocal cord paresis prevented him from performing and also led to the cancellation of a planned North American Simon and Garfunkel tour.
