- American filmmaker Adam Muskiewicz launched the website elviswanted.com as part of a documentary investigating the myth that Elvis Presley is still alive, offering a $3 million reward to anyone who could find Elvis alive. The film was scheduled for release in August 2007 to mark the 30th anniversary of Presley's death.
- Elvis Presley posthumously reached number one on the UK album chart with the album “The King”.
- The compilation album “Elvis the King”, containing eighteen of Elvis Presley's greatest singles, reached number one on the UK chart.
- Nearly 26 years after Elvis Presley's death, radio stations and other media began reporting that BMG/RCA had discovered a previously unheard song, “I'm a Roustabout.” The song had originally been commissioned and written by Winfield Scott and Otis Blackwell for the 1964 film Roustabout but was not used. Winfield Scott found the original acetate recording in the basement of his home in New Jersey, and BMG/RCA subsequently added it to the album Elvis, 2nd to None.

On June 1, 2017, a court ruled in favor of Arista, stating that Presley had sold the rights to his songs to RCA Records in 1973 for $5.4 million and had been properly and fully compensated.
- Elvis Presley's recording sessions at Stax Records in Memphis were released together for the first time as “Elvis at Stax: Deluxe Edition.” The three-disc box set also contained alternate recordings and rare photographs from the July and December 1973 sessions and reached No. 70 on the UK album chart.
