The
Victor Talking Machine Company was founded on October 3,
1901. It was formed by combining the interests of Eldridge R. Johnson and companies associated with
Emile Berliner; it was legally incorporated on October 3, 1901, and organized two days later. It later became a major manufacturer of phonographs and gramophone records. In
1929, it was acquired by the Radio Corporation of
America, creating the RCA Victor brand, which became a major manufacturer of phonographs and gramophone records for several decades.
